* School Chaplain – Part Time 0.4 FTE. Applicants are invited with qualifications in Youth Work or equivalent and who are interested in working in a small school environment and are able to agree with, and actively support the Christian ethos of the School, are invited to apply for the part time position of Chaplain commencing January, 2010. More...
* Appointment of Head of Secondary for 2010. We are pleased to announce to Mr Paul Onley has been appointed as our new Head of Secondary, commencing in 2010. Together with his family, Paul will be moving to Victoria from the A.C.T. at the end of this year to take up this leadership position at MDCS.
* Winner of HabitAT Schools Action Award. MDCS has won the Action category of the HabitAT Schools award from the Shire of Yarra Ranges. Our school takes seriously the commitment and education about care for the local environment.
* Completion of our Court playspace. The old asphalt area at MDCS have been totally upgraded, adding an additional court and covering the entire surface with beautifully colourful and bouncing Astroturf! Students are enjoying the extra space and the great surface.

.Word from THE Principal
Welcome to our school website. While browsing the pages of our website will give you some understanding of MDCS I would encourage you to come and tour the school. Mountain District Christian School is a beautiful school. It offers a quality, Christian education. The students are engaged in a range of learning activities that assist them in understanding how they are to live as disciples of Jesus. We are known as a warm and welcoming community that seeks to foster the gifts of the students in our care. We are blessed with modern facilities, wonderful programs throughout the school and a low student to teacher ratio. Our VCE classes are small, providing more teacher support for students, and we strive for success in learning. This year we have already celebrated our 30th anniversary and now are delighted to see the fruits of our building projects with the expansion of our outdoor courts and the commencement of the school gymnasium which is to be completed early in 2010. I invite you to come and visit either on our next Open Day, August 22nd or during the school week to see our wonderful students in action.
